Eat My Lunch’s head chef wins big at 2016 Metro Peugeot Restaurant of the Year Awards
Michael Meredith, Eat My Lunch’s head chef, has won Best Fine Dining Restaurant and Restaurateur of the Year at the 2016 Metro Peugeot Restaurant of the Year Awards.
When Michael isn’t busy in the kitchen creating mouth-watering degustation meals at Merediths, he is making lunches at Eat My Lunch from 5.30am every weekday and delivering them to hungry Auckland kids.
It is Michael’s commitment to charity work and giving back to the community that has seen him named Restaurateur of the Year.
Michael and the Eat My Lunch team have delivered over 140,000 give lunches to 32 schools across Auckland since inception last year. Eat My Lunch was founded by Lisa King and with Michael’s help they are making it easy for Kiwis to help other Kiwis by buying lunch and in turn giving lunch to a hungry kid.
In 2015, Meredith also won the Restaurant Association New Zealand Good Neighbour Award for his efforts in ‘paying it forward’ and Outstanding Chef at the Lewisham Awards.
