Establishment of The Runway Foundation

Mike and Terese Marr, founders of the TPT Group Holdings have announced their continued investment into the community through the establishment of The Runway Foundation.

The Runway Foundation will have key initiatives of its own as well as partner alongside other commendable New Zealand organisations to make a positive difference in the lives of those who are fighting difficult circumstances.

One focus of the Runway Foundation is to support families in the greater Auckland region who have children diagnosed within the ADHD spectrum by establishing a support centre where both the children and their families can access the support they need to thrive. The support centre will offer services that provide and promote holistic care, education, advocacy and a positive outlook for children and their families who may be unsupported, misunderstood and challenged within a mainstream education environment.

“Over the last ten years in the Counties region, it has been brought to our attention a growing number of families who have children with ADHD related challenges and who are struggling to succeed within the mainstream environment. These children typically miss out on educational support funding, fall through the gaps and are often branded, in-tolerated, and treated as naughty or incompetent. The results of this is tragic, on both the child and the stress this puts onto families. It can negatively impact all involved for years to come. It is confusing and overwhelming for parents as to how to handle these challenges and support services seem to be unattainable due to unawareness, expense and travel. These families need someone who can get alongside them, understand the journey and pull it altogether for them. This is what the Runway Foundation aims to assist with - to help make their path easier, so that it is not only a manageable journey but uniquely positive. These children have a huge amount of potential, they are often gifted and entrepreneurial and with the right support, can achieve astounding things in life.” says Terese

Other initiatives of the Runway Foundation include working in the community with youth helping to support them to achieve their potential and generally supporting families and people in need through partnering with other charitable organisations such as food-banks, crisis funds and counseling services.
