Choice Hotels launches third garden city hotel
Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, one of the largest hotel franchisors in the Asia-Pacific region, has announced the addition of the Comfort Inn Riccarton as it expands its South Island footprint.
The new property boasts an impressive 28 rooms including Spa Studios and Two and Three Bedroom Apartments. Each room is equipped with the latest modern conveniences, fully equipped kitchenettes and Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machines. The property also has BBQ facilities and guest laundry services available.
The addition of this new property takes the total number of Choice Hotels properties in the Canterbury region to three (including Quality Hotel Elms and Econo Lodge Canterbury Court) and the total number nationally to 31. Choice Hotels in New Zealand is represented by the Econo Lodge, Comfort, Quality and Clarion brands.
Trent Fraser, CEO of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, is excited to add the Christchurch property to its existing New Zealand offering as it looks to cater for all levels of Canterbury – and South Island – traveller.
“Christchurch is a vibrant city with a range of experiences on offer for every type of traveller and is of course the gateway to the rest of the South Island. We love that we can now welcome our Christchurch guests into another convenient, comfortable and affordable property that we know they will enjoy,” Fraser says.
The property is located just seven kilometres from Christchurch airport and only a short trip from the University of Canterbury, Westpac Stadium and all other major Christchurch attractions. The Westfield Shopping Centre and the hustle and bustle of downtown Christchurch are also only a moment away, making the Comfort Inn Riccarton an ideal hub for those wanting to explore the vibrancy of the city.
For guests open to travelling further afield, there’s plenty to do after exploring Cashel Street’s unique shipping container shopping and the stunning gardens, parks and many museums that the city offers. The seaside town of Kaikoura is a short 182 kilometre drive, while the family-friendly and naturally thermal hot pools of Hanmer Springs are just 135 kilometres from the property.
