Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Recognised at Chamber Business Awards

of the south iwi Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō was a winner at
the 2016 Westpac Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Business
Excellence Awards after receiving the Strategy & Marketing
Award at a Gala Dinner held at the Marlborough Convention
Centre in Blenheim on Friday 18 March.
Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō CEO, Butch Bradley said the Award was very satisfying and reflected the work of the iwi over the past 18 months to develop a communications infrastructure that met the needs of the iwi into the future.
“In
accepting this award on behalf of the team I would like to
pay tribute to, and acknowledge the hard work of, all those
people – living and past - whose years of hard work and
dedication has brought us to this point,” said Butch
Bradley.
“This award is the culmination of 18 months of
hard work and a determination to develop the mechanisms to,
not just promote programmes to support and nurture the
social, cultural and economic aspirations of our 2800 iwi
members, but provide meaningful opportunities to listen to
and engage with them,” said Butch Bradley.
“Our vision, is encapsulated in the statement: Kia tū pakari ai te whare o Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō. A strong, vibrant, and proud Iwi, which exercises and realises its rangatiratanga.”
“Our communications and
engagement strategy spans new and old media, digital and
paper-based mediums. It is about reaching our members
wherever they may be in the world, celebrating their
successes and ensuring that we are able to exercise our tino
rangatiratanga in those areas of importance to
us.
