Line 7 announce sponsorship of Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron

The much loved New Zealand marine brand is excited to sponsor one of New Zealand’s most distinguished squadrons

Iconic New Zealand clothing manufacturer Line 7 has announced it will be sponsoring the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in 2016.

RNZYS general manager Hayden Porter says Line 7’s long-standing support of sailing from grassroots to an international level makes it an ideal sponsor for the Squadron.

“Line 7 has had a long association with Kiwi sailing over many years and it is fantastic to see this brand back as a preeminent clothing supplier for Kiwi and international yachties,” says Mr Porter.

“We have been impressed to date with the technical approach to the clothing design and the price point for this quality.”

This news comes at an exciting time for Line 7, as the home-grown brand brings its Marine brand licence back under the wing of its parent company, Charles Parsons. This move allows the extensive global networks Charles Parsons has built up to be utilised and allows the full weight of the company to be put behind growing the Line 7 brand locally and globally.

As the company grew out of a West Auckland garage more than 50 years ago to an internationally in-demand brand, its success and longevity is largely to do with its attitude of continual development.

Line 7 has recently announced the development of an innovative new range including quick dry fabrics through to cutting-edge Celliant technology.

While maintaining a strong nod to its heritage, Line 7 has also recently updated its logo to reflect its space as a contemporary, modern clothing manufacturer.

Mr Porter says the new logo “keeps the history of the brand alive whilst giving it a fresh modern look.”

Looking ahead to a busy and exciting 2016 year, Mr Porter is eager to see a successful year for the Squadron and is looking forward to be doing so with the support of one of New Zealand’s most loved brands.

“We are grateful for the support of Line 7 and look forward to their continued support of sailing in New Zealand for a long time to come.”
