Want to create great things for tourists?

Want to create great things for tourists?

Funding applications are now open to support initiatives aimed at developing tourism infrastructure and visitor attractions in both the Thames and Coromandel-Colville wards.

Applications for the two Local Economic Development grants opened today and must be received no later than 4pm Monday 11 April.

The Boards will make the decisions at their meetings in May.

The funds were proposed for a three-year period ($20,000 per year for Coromandel-Colville and $50,000 per year for Thames) with a vision of supporting projects such as the development of walkways / cycleways or other tourism infrastructure to attract increased visitor numbers and enhance local business opportunities. The funding could also be used as "seed funding" to support application to external funders for local projects.
