First in Australia to launch customised psychometric testing

unique, interactive, Deloitte-based work scenario
Deloitte has taken an innovative step forward in its graduate recruitment, becoming the first business in Australia to introduce a fully customised, interactive assessment as part of the application process.
Collaborating with Talegent, a leading Australian assessment company, the professional services firm has developed a highly engaging, game-based assessment experience. Setting out a series of challenges related to real-life work scenarios applicants might expect to encounter at Deloitte, the gamified assessment is the first to be developed for a specific employer.
The branded experience includes an introductory video featuring a Deloitte employee offering insights into the way the firm works and the kind of talent it is looking to invest in. Participants also receive communications from Deloitte ‘co-workers’ who provide information and ask them to complete logic-based tasks relating to tangible work scenarios.
The new approach to applicant assessments further demonstrates Deloitte’s truly innovative outlook.
“Just as Deloitte strives to ensure its clients are ahead of the curve in this digital age, we also strive to be at the forefront of new thinking when it comes to our own business practices, including graduate recruitment,” said Tanyth Lloyd, Deloitte National Talent Acquisition and Mobility Director.
“Today’s applicants have grown up with interactive online games. We wanted to give them a truly unique experience, and one that they could genuinely relate to, when applying for a role with Deloitte. The assessment not only enables us to gather additional data on their skills, but offers insights for them into what it would be like to work for Deloitte.
“Talegent has really
brought this idea to life. They identified the job-relevant
competencies that would translate well to be tested via a
game interface and designed the questions and game logic,
and worked closely with multimedia production company One
Fat Sheep to develop unique design elements that put users
at the centre of the experience.”
Deloitte’s
latest graduate program opened on 17 February and all
applicants will experience the new interactive assessment
process.
Lloyd said applicant feedback on the new
gamified assessment had been very positive.
“Having
recently been named Most Popular Graduate Employer by the
Australian Financial Review’s 2016 Top 100 Graduate
Employers Awards, graduate program applicants are getting
even closer to the career opportunities Deloitte can
offer,” she said.
“Innovation and leading-edge thinking and technology are integral to engaging potential employees, attracting top graduate talent and investing in our future workforce.”
