Voluntary pause in distribution of one steel mesh product
Euro Corp holds distribution of SE615-500ESTD steel mesh pending re-testing for compliance with AS/NZS 4671:2001
Euro Corporation has held distribution of one of its products, SE615-500ESTD steel mesh pending re-testing against the New Zealand standard.
Euro Corporation has been informed by the Commerce Commission of test results obtained when the Commission was checking the product’s compliance with the standard. It has asked the Commission for further details of the testing, as the product tested had already undergone thorough testing and been passed by a leading independent ISO accredited laboratory.
Euro Corporation is meeting with Commission staff on Monday to discuss the test results.
Meanwhile, Euro Corporation has stopped distributing this product, and is re-testing its stocks to confirm that they meet the standard.
“We take standards compliance very seriously. We are hopeful that this matter will be resolved and we will be in a position to resume sales of this product within a few days,” says Euro Corporation’s Managing Director, Randal McKenzie.
SE615-500STD mesh is used mainly in floor slabs in residential construction. It is manufactured by Euro Corporation from locally produced wire rod or imported from an accredited ISO 9001:2008 overseas supplier.
Euro Corporation manufactures and distributes over 700 product lines of trade quality steel reinforcing, farm fencing, staple and nail products for use in the rural and construction sectors.
