The NZ Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Q4 2015 has just been released.

The CPI came in lower than expected.

NZ CPI Q4/Annual:

Headline Q1 CPI -0.5% on qtr (exp -0.3%) +0.1% on yr (exp +0.3%)
Non-tradables CPI +0.5% on qtr +1.8% on yr
Tradables CPI -1.8% on qtr -2.1% on yr

The NZD is sharply lower in immediate response.

Current indicative levels are:

NZDUSD 0.6400 / 0.6425
NZDAUD 0.9265 / 0.9305
NZDEUR 0.5870 / 0.5890
NZDGBP 0.4520 / 0.4540
NZDJPY 75.30 / 75.60
