Lights, camera, action!
Destination Coromandel are on the search for video and photo footage to help promote The Coromandel. The region's marketing agency has partnered with outdoor retailer Torpedo 7 who are offering monthly prizes for the best videos. Meanwhile the best photographers will be invited back to capture The Coromandel on camera during autumn.
The New Zealand tourism industry is anticipating it's busiest summer on record and Telcos have increased mobile networks throughout the region. Combine this with a long and hot summer forecast and it’s possible that The Coromandel will feature across digital media more than ever before. Capitalising on this opportunity Destination Coromandel are encouraging people to explore The Coromandel, shoot their favourite spots and tag #goodforyoursoul when sharing them.
Anyone capturing video content, from any recording device, is encouraged to submit a 30 second clip to go in the draw for a monthly outdoor prize, courtesy of Torpedo7. The prizes include a 2 room tent, single kayak, stand up paddle board and women's retro bike. There will also be a family holiday and GoPro HERO4 Silver for the video that best captures thegood for your soul vibe.
Having recently launched their online Instagram account, @thecoromandel, Destination Coromandel are also on the look out for photographers with the ability to reach specific audiences on this photo-sharing network. Photographers are encouraged to submit their best photos of The Coromandel this summer and tag #goodforyoursoul to be considered to shoot during the autumn invitation.
The competition in the photography field is likely to be fierce given Destination Coromandel intend to sponsor specific shoots for the best talent. However, the video competition should appeal to everyone from budding film makers to cinematographers keen to pick up outdoor kit for the bach.
This content campaign will run from January to April, encouraging visitation during the ideal autumn months, also known as the endless summer. Details on the campaign can be found at www.thecoromandel.com/goodforyoursoul
