Relief for Diesel Drivers as BP Reduces National Price Again

BP has decreased its national price again this morning, removing three cents per litre on diesel fuel.

BP Communications Manager Shelley Brady said further decreases in refined product costs for diesel had enabled the company to pass through another decrease today.

“This is the fourth national price decrease BP has had for diesel fuel in less than two weeks.

“BP has removed six cents from the national price of unleaded and 11 cents from the national price of diesel in the last 11 days,” she said.

Cost of product on unleaded fuel has increased steadily over the last couple of days, so BP is holding its price for motorspirit at this stage.

“European demand for diesel has eased, which has enabled us to pass on a decrease here,” Brady said.

“We monitor our prices every day and will pass through decreases whenever we can.

“We don’t know exactly what the future will look like, but we do know that exchange rates remain fairly volatile so we continue to watch for any movements in the Kiwi dollar very closely.”

BP national prices as at 15 December 2015:

91 Unleaded 187.9 cents per litre

95 Unleaded 196.9 cents per litre

Ultimate 98 204.9 cents per litre

Ultimate Diesel 108.9 cents per litre
