Leave the Christmas Lights in the Cupboard,
The Waitomo Glowworms Have You Covered!
Leave behind the frustration of untangling the Christmas lights this year and head to New Zealand’s natural fairy light display – the Waitomo Glowworm Caves.
Glide silently through the starry wonderland of this very special glowworm grotto and enjoy a magical galaxy of tiny living lights. Found exclusively in New Zealand, these glowworms (Arachnocampa luminosa) are thousands of tiny creatures radiating beautiful, twinkling luminescent light.
From 26th December to 31st January there are additional Twilight tours at 6pm and 7pm and you can even visit the Caves on Christmas Day (last tour at 4pm). Adults from $49, Children from $22 and $121 for a family pass, tours depart every half hour from 9am-5pm daily (allow 45 minutes).
Who needs plug in fairy lights when you have Mother Nature’s very own light display to enjoy the true magic of Christmas!
