Countdown looks to fill 500 jobs nationwide
Up to 50 varied roles available in Wellington will boost local employment
28 October 2015: Countdown is embarking on a major recruitment drive to fill approximately 50 jobs in Wellington, hosting a bulk recruitment event at The Mercure Hotel today.
The bulk recruitment day will be held at The Mercure Hotel today between 10:00am and 5:30pm. Similar recruitment days have already taken place in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua and Wellington and have been very popular.
Countdown’s General Manager of Human Resources, Deborah Beegling, says for those seeking flexible working options, seasonal work, or more traditional hours, Countdown is a great choice.
“We employ many parents, high school and university students who all require flexible hours to fit around childcare or study. We are also offering a number of full-time roles as well on the shop floor, in the call centre and in the support office.
“With 181 stores nationwide and more on the way, we are often recruiting. These open days are a great chance for us to see what talent is out there and who will make a great contribution to the Countdown team,” says Beegling.
Countdown makes an impressive contribution to employment in New Zealand, already employing around 18,000 people.
To date, more than 1250 people have attended the other recruitment days through the country.
Once the recruitment days are complete, regional zone managers will sort through the applications and begin contacting potential team members the week after.
