New Home Show Prepares to Open on the North Shore

Excitement is mounting amongst home enthusiasts as the Auckland Better Home & Living Show prepares to open its doors at the North Shore Events Centre for the first time on Friday 13 November. Based on the highly successful formula of other Better Home & Living Shows, visitors are tipped to flock to the three-day event to source emerging trends, cutting-edge innovations and industry expertise on how to improve their home and their lifestyle.

Show director, Daniel Joll, says “The show will inform and inspire anyone wanting to improve their lifestyle in a sustainable way by showcasing tomorrow’s ideas, today. It will be packed with hundreds of products and ideas, so visitors should allow plenty of time to explore and enjoy the five clearly marked sections: Better Homes, Better Gardens, Better Bodies & Minds, Better Transport and Better Communities. Those planning renovations can bring in their plans and discuss them with the host of experts on site and even better, be treated to massive show-only specials that they won’t find anywhere else.”

One lucky visitor will win a week’s holiday for two in Fiordland thanks to Real Journeys. The Discovery Expedition tour explores Fiordland aboard a motorized classic yacht, delving in to the rich natural and human histories of the region, with opportunities to disembark and explore relics of settlements long past with a nature guide. To enter, show visitors need only supply their details at the show entrance. The winner will be drawn when the show closes on Sunday evening and will be announced on More FM Auckland the following day.

“Visitors who are interested in greener gardening should make a point of checking out the sustainable garden feature by Kay Millar Landscape Design. It will incorporate edible elements in a stunning design. Sustainable transport is another area of interest, so the electric cars at the Blue Cars stand are definitely worth a visit, along with electric bikes and hands-free Segways. There will be so many exciting innovations that will grab people’s attention, it really will be an event not to be missed”, Mr. Joll said.

A series of free daily seminars by trade professionals will round off the experience by providing home enthusiasts with the most up-to-date information on kitchens, bathrooms, landscaping, green urban living, solar solutions and choosing colour. Covering just about everything else, will be daily short talks and workshops on the power of herbs, electric cars, quality sleep, home buying, mini avocados, back care, essential oils, making kombucha and cracking the perfect espresso..
