Demand shoots up for big game
Electricity demand shot up for Sunday morning’s big All Blacks game against France.

Electricity
Crews were kept busy with ten car v pole incidents during the week in Avondale, Kuneu, Remuera, South Head, Mangere,
Papatoetoe, Manurewa, Matakana, Browns Bay and Kelston. There was also a car v pillar incident in Papatoetoe.
Crews also attended six house fires to isolate the electricity supply so fire service personnel could work safely in
Mangere (2), Epsom, CBD, Papakura and Pakuranga.
Gas
Damage was caused to our networks in Gisborne, Howick, Gulf Harbour, Orakei and Hauraki.
