ActionActors secures Dan Carter to answer phone..
Thursday 15 October 2015.
ActionActors - a temp HR agency specialising in providing part time, non acting work for actors, has announced that it will not be answering the phone until further notice.
"It's not as bad as it sounds" says Co-founder and actor Bruce Hopkins. "I recently attended the Raukatauri Music Therapy charity auction on the company and got carried away bidding on an answer phone message provided by Dan Carter, so I'm merely trying to maximise the return on investment" he explains.
Hopkins, who played Gamling in Peter Jacksons Lord of the Rings trilogy admits that he is a Dan Carter fan and may have had one or two red wines too many on the night. "I didn't catch the actual figure and although I only bid once, it turned out to be the final bid, which was in the four figure area.
ActionActors is not exactly flush with funds - so when I had to fess up to my business partner, it was one of the most stressful meetings I've had. Whilst he appeared understanding at the time - I have not been able to win an argument since. He keeps saying he has thousands of reasons why we will go with his ideas."
Hopkins is praying the All Blacks have the result for this next game and the Rugby World Cup overall that we all hope for, and that Dan Carter bows out of the ABs on a high so as to further enhance the value of the message. "Certainly it would be nice to tell the business partner there's thousands of reasons why it was a good idea to bid on Dan's message!"
