the process of contacting affected customers and informing them of the next steps. A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
look-up is also available for customers on the Volkswagen NZ website: www.volkswagen.co.nz.
Volkswagen AG in Germany is working as quickly as possible to find a technical solution and once that is known,
customers will be informed of the action plan to remedy their vehicles.
“While Volkswagen New Zealand did not know about the software discrepancy, we would like to apologise for what has
happened. We value the trust our customers place in us and we will be in contact with them as soon as a solution is
identified,” commented Tom Ruddenklau, General Manager, Volkswagen New Zealand.
Further updates will be released as the company works through the issue.
