7 October is an historic day for the union movement as the largest private sector union in New Zealand is launched. Formed from the merger of the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union and Service and Food Workers’ Union, the new union will represent over 50,000 members in industries as diverse as aviation, construction, hospitality, mining, post, aged care and cleaning. Watch the livestream from 10am, Wednesday 7 October as the new union’s name is unveiled in Wellington.
