The Auckland Pet Expo 2015 shows why pets might be eating healthier than many humans
Pet food has come along way since the simple can of jelly meat.
In this day and age our cats, dogs and furry friends are served-up some very health conscious delicacies, most made right here in New Zealand. Choice is in abundance.
This years Auckland Pet and Animal Expo at the ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane, from 10-11 October has more pet foods suitable for different diets than ever before, showing that this more than half a billion dollar a year industry in New Zealand, just isn’t a dogs breakfast!
Air dried food to moist. The nutritional ingredients, be it raw or as an extract are made-up of some healthy choices, equivalent for pets to what you would get served in human form at a five star restaurant… Some healthy choices include Mussel extract, Beef, Venison, Lamb, Salmon just to name a few. Human delicacies made to be consumed by our precious pets.
High-end pet foods are in abundance at this years pet expo, words that will ring-out-loud at the 2015 show, amongst the barking, meowing, squeaking and squawking of the amazing animals will be Holistic, Natural, Organic and Healthy. Once just the domain for human foods, now it is a must for many pet owners. There is also foods for those pets with allergies and gluten free… yes gluten free!
These foods don’t come cheap some ranging up to $300 for a 13kg bag.
World renowned Holistic Vet Dr Liza Schndier will also be speaking at 1:45pm about the growth of Holistic Food and Holistic Animal Healthcare in general!
“With 48% of households owning at least one cat and 29% owning a dog in New Zealand, we adore our pets and many pet owners will spend as much as it takes for there belovered animal to be healthy and live the best life possible, as long as possible, in today's hectic world” says Auckland Pet Expo organiser Brian Peters.
“Food is eaten every day by our belovered cats and dogs, so feeding them the right diet is hugely important for those who attend the expo” he says. “They make us happy so we must keep them healthy”.
With it also been a very competitive market the presentation of the packaging for the “modern pet food” is also important to catch the eye of the loving pet owner. The numerous exhibition stands at this years show will be “bursting with colour”.
