NZ E-Cigarette Suppliers Support Stoptober

NZ E-Cigarette Suppliers Support Stoptober

Friday 2 October 2015

A leading supplier of electronic cigarettes - NZVAPOR today demonstrated their support of Stoptober by offering smokers a 30 day money back guarantee on products purchased through the month of October.

“Stoptober provides the perfect platform for a program like this. Many people at this time are going to be seeking alternatives to smoking, and we believe e-cigarettes should be part of this effort,” said QJ Satchell, Managing Director of NZVAPOR.

“By offering a promise of ‘return it for any reason’ NZVAPOR demonstrates our commitment to Kiwis and the confidence in our e-cigarettes,” said Mr Satchell.

“NZVAPOR has received significant feedback from consumers who have stopped smoking after transitioning to e-cigarettes and vaping. We believe smokers who are currently sitting on the fence should have confidence that if they don’t like our e-cigarettes, for any reason they can return them and they’ll get their money back.”

“In the UK, Public Health England is supportive of smokers wanting to quit using an e-cigarette for Stoptober, yet in New Zealand, smokers are being kept in the dark about e-cigarettes,” said Mr Satchell.

The use of e-cigarettes and vaping is significantly increaseing in New Zealand, creating heated debate among public health experts about whether they should be supported as a cessation aid.

In August Public Health England published an expert independent review ‘E-cigarettes: An Evidence Update concluding that e-cigarettes are around 95% safer than smoked tobacco and they can help smokers to quit.

The department publicised their support of e-cigarettes and their place in smoking cessation. Although the debate continues, one thing is clear, the best thing you can do for your health is to stop smoking.

“In New Zealand, under current legislation, electronic cigarette suppliers are not allowed to advertise or offer their products as smoking cessation devices. This needs to change,” Mr Satchell said.
