Business events industry set to conference in Christchurch

Business events industry set to conference in Christchurch

Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) is promising plenty of education and entertainment in an exciting environment at its annual conference from 28 to 30 September.

“Our theme is Growing Together and next week’s gathering in Christchurch is chance to learn, celebrate and develop as an industry sector,” says CINZ Chief Executive, Sue Sullivan.

“We are pulling out all the stops to make this a fantastic showcase for the new Christchurch, while packing in a full programme of speakers and workshops with valuable networking time,” Sue Sullivan says.

“The keynote speakers and workshops reflect our continued emphasis on education,” she says.

More than 120 CINZ members including owners and managers of key venues, catering companies, accommodation providers, activity operators and regional convention bureaux will meet on 29 and 30 September at Vbase’s new Hagley Oval Pavilion.

Christchurch and Canterbury Convention Bureau manager Caroline Blanchfield says hosting the conference in Christchurch is a tremendous boost for the city.

“To have the whole CINZ membership here is a great opportunity to tell everyone we’re back in business. It’s a chance to showcase the new venues we have available right now, and to talk about the future of conferencing in Christchurch,” she says.

The CINZ Annual Conference begins on Monday evening, 28 September with a welcome at Christchurch’s Transitional Cardboard Cathedral. The restored Isaac Theatre Royal will host the event’s gala dinner on 29 September.
