Up against the best in the industry, Travel Money Group was awarded bronze in the shopper experience category for Travel Money NZs ‘Parity Party’ campaign. They also took home bronze in the physical store category for their digital rate and content screens, as well as silver in the store design category for their innovative kiosk design, which included the kiosk at Travel Money NZs newest store in Bayfair, Mount Maunganui.
Large Australian retailers and chains were among the merchants that Travel Money Group went up against, including; The Body Shop, Walt Disney Studios, Levi Strauss, Woolworths, Uniqlo and Dick Smith.
Scott McCullough, nation leader Travel Money NZ, says he’s thrilled with Travel Money NZs success across the ditch and says he’s really proud of the growing success of the brand and everything they’ve achieved in the last year.
“It’s a real honour to have won such prestigious awards and fantastic to be recognised externally for our innovation, especially against big agencies and massive media budgets both in NZ and Australia.”
POPAI’s general manager Lee McClymont says award entries in 2015 were the most diverse and innovative in the 15-year history of the awards.
“The retail environment is changing at breakneck speed, with the integration of new technologies and shoppers that are more sophisticated than ever. The industry is getting even more creative as a result,” Ms McClymont says.
With five new stores opening around New Zealand before Christmas 2015, Travel Money NZ has a big focus on expansion this year and Mr McCullough says he’s really excited about the future of foreign exchange retailing in New Zealand.
“As the number of Kiwis travelling continues to grow, the need for a reliable foreign exchange retailer is paramount and at Travel Money Group we’re really excited about our role to play in this space. With our team showcasing their expertise and innovation and taking home such prestigious awards, I know we are well equipped to deliver in this area and to lead the way in the industry,” Mr McCullough says.
