Auckland Airport participates in the Future Director programme in FY16
Auckland Airport’s Board announced today that it has selected Nicola Greer to participate in the Future Director Programme during the 2016 financial year.
Ms Greer is a director of Heartland Bank Limited, which offers specialist banking products in the household, business and rural sectors, and is a director of Mike Greer Commercial Limited and Mike Greer Pegasus Town Limited, which develop commercial and residential properties in the South Island. She has previously worked in fixed income, currency, and commodity roles for Goldman Sachs International, Citibank and ANZ Bank. Ms Greer lives in Queenstown.
The Future Director Programme seeks to identify talented young New Zealanders with strong potential to succeed in a governance role, and provide them with opportunities to observe and participate in Boardroom discussions. While the aspiring directors participate in real discussions, they do not have a role in Board decision making, and Auckland Airport has protocols in place that prevent future director participants becoming "deemed directors".
Auckland Airport’s Chair, Sir Henry van der Heyden, says, “We continue to strongly believe in the value of the Future Director Programme and were really proud to appoint New Zealand’s inaugural participant in the Programme in 2013. Auckland Airport’s ongoing participation in the Programme helps to promote diversity of leadership and the development of governance talent. The Board looks forward to Nicola joining our discussions over the next 12 months.”
Ms Greer says, “Participating in the Future Director Programme is an exciting opportunity and I am looking forward to further developing my governance skills by observing and contributing to Auckland Airport Board meetings.”
