Last few days to vote in 2015 Sheepmeat and Beef Levy Referendum
There is still a significant number of farmers yet to vote in the 2015 Sheepmeat and Beef Levy Referendum before it closes on Thursday this week (10 September).
Beef + Lamb New Zealand Chairman, James Parsons said as of this morning 5,195 farmers (30 per cent of registered farmers) had cast their vote.
“It’s really important for the organisation that it has a strong mandate from farmers if they want Beef + Lamb New Zealand working for them in the next six years.
“It’s a busy time of year with lambing and calving underway, however voting is a very simple process, which requires only a few minutes.”
Parsons said with postal votes no longer able to make the 5pm deadline this Thursday, voting was limited to online or fax.
“Every registered farmer has received in their voting papers a personalised login and pin. They simply need to go online, fill in their stock declaration as of 30thJune and then cast their vote by ticking two boxes.
“This is the one time every six years when farmers have the chance to say yes or no to an organisation representing their interests,” Parsons said.
There are instructions on how to vote on the ballot paper and atbeeflambnz.com/referendum or by calling 0800 233 352.
