New SharePoint 365 app extends on-premise product benefits

New SharePoint 365 app extends on-premise product benefits to cloud users

Information Leadership is launching a new app, Flexiviewer 365, as a next step in extending its suite of highly successful iWorkplace on-premise products to cloud users. Lead Developer, Jos Auker-Woor, will be sharing his insights from Information Leadership’s conversion programme from on-premise to apps at the Microsoft Ignite conference this week.

Information Leadership Director Sarah Heal says the new app is part of Information Leadership’s wider focus on bringing cost-savings to businesses, as well as providing a more personal experience to users.

“Flexiviewer 365 enables our customers who use the cloud to get more from their SharePoint products. The Flexiviewer 365 app is based on our hugely successful on-premise Flexiviewer product, which enables users to see all the content they need in their own site, including content created or maintained elsewhere, in a single ‘flexiview’, without having to navigate around SharePoint,” says Ms Heal.

Creating this ‘sense of place’ for users is central to the iWorkplace philosophy as it enables ease of access no matter where content logically sits in the business. By bringing information to people, instead of them having to forage for it, they are more likely to adopt the approach and also contribute their own information. For business analysts it also simplifies the design process by allowing site designs to focus on their primary audiences, while ensuring that others are able to view relevant information from their own sites.

For example, Flexiviewer 365 enables organisations to centrally manage important contracts, policies and marketing material, while making subsets of these documents available to be ‘flexiviewed’ by different teams and sites that use them, as part of their digital workplace. This ensures that key documents are kept in a central repository, while providing a convenient way for different teams and sites to access the material they need from one or more document libraries. It also removes the risk of key information being omitted from documents, or outdated information being used, as centrally held documents can be maintained and updated as needed.

Flexiviewer 365 is part of a growing range of iWorkplace offerings for the cloud by Information Leadership. Also available is Template Central 365, a central system for managing templates, and work is currently underway on developing Records Manager 365, which enables cloud users to do compliant records management.
