Recognising the best in New Zealand information security - 2015 iSANZ Awards entries now open

Media release – 3 September 2015

The iSANZ organising committee is pleased to announce that entries in the 2015 iSANZ Awards are now open.

The Awards recognise excellence in New Zealand’s world-class information security (InfoSec) industry - lifting the lid on the many local people and organisations working to protect networks from malicious activity.

All New Zealanders or New Zealand-based individuals and organisations doing interesting or innovative things with InfoSec are strongly encouraged to enter at www.isanz.org.nz.

The 2015 iSANZ Award categories are:

Best International Superstar – open to individuals who have achieved significant results in the development or promotion of security work that has had a high international profile.

Best Security Project / Initiative – open to companies or organisations who have successfully deployed and implemented an InfoSec project or initiative; Or who have successfully initiated best InfoSec practices.

Best Security Awareness Campaign – open to companies or organisations who have successfully deployed a formal security awareness program covering outreach, education and assistance in order to raise awareness of InfoSec nationally.

Hall of Fame Award – a special nominated category open to a person, event or company that has made a significant contribution to the wider InfoSec community.

iSANZ Committee Chair Kendra Ross says it’s well known that New Zealand is not immune from the effects of an ever-increasing battery of cyber exploits. What’s less well known is that many New Zealand individuals and organisations are making great strides in protecting networks from malicious activity.

“New Zealand has some of the brightest, most innovative security people and teams in the world. However, much of their good work flies under the radar. These Awards are an opportunity to recognise the good guys and small victories that are possible in the never ending war against cybercrime.”

Entries and nominations in the 2015 iSANZ Awards close at noon on Friday, 30 October 2015. Entry details can be found at www.isanz.org.nz.
