Rise in Travellers Flying Business Class as 'Golden Era of Travel' Continues
• New high-end travel store to open in Albany to meet demand from Aucklanders looking for unique and exclusive holidays
Recent figures from Travel Associates, Flight Centres boutique travel brand, show that demand for international air travel from New Zealand continues to rise, including those flying premium and business class.
Sue Matson, Flight Centre NZ general manager retail, says this is largely due to an increase in competition between airlines and the number of carriers now flying out of New Zealand offering premium services. She says that we are currently in a golden era of travel and that business class fares are more accessible for New Zealanders than ever before.
“We’re in something of a golden era of travel at the moment. Many destinations are much more accessible and more competitively priced than ever before, especially those in the luxury category, that’s really exciting for lots of New Zealanders. It’s a great time to be travelling,” Ms Matson says.
Ms Matson goes on to say that one of the characteristics of the ‘golden era of travel’ is that there is now greater choice and more accessibility to luxury and comfort travel experiences.
“For many Kiwis, it’s not all about price point, travellers want the whole experience and they want to treat themselves. Flying business class, staying in 5-star resorts and going on luxury cruises are just some of the travel experiences we’ve seen an increase in during the past few years,” Ms Matson says.
To meet demand from an ever increasing number of Aucklanders seeking premium, high-end travel options, Travel Associates have today opened a new store in Albany - Chaffey & Szymanska Travel Associates.
Specialising in experiential, unique and exclusive holidays, the new store will be located at 86H Bush Road, Albany and will be open five days a week, hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with late nights and Saturdays by appointment.
Tanya Chaffey and Ilona Szymanska, team leaders at Chaffey & Szymanska Travel Associates, have been in the travel industry for more than 27 years combined and are looking forward to sharing their extensive experience in this niche market.
Ms Chaffey says, “during our past 27 years in the travel industry, there has been an increasing amount of enquiry from locals who are looking to invest a bit more in their holiday and to really make it a trip to remember. Due to this demand, Albany is the perfect location to open our new Travel Associates store.”
