Chapman Tripp is pleased to announce the promotion of five new senior solicitors in the firm’s Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch offices. The appointments are effective from today.
Paula Gibbs, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Auckland
Paula specialises in the conduct of complex commercial litigation and arbitration, including international arbitration. She advises clients on a broad range of disputes, including insurance and banking matters and general contract and trust issues. Paula joined Chapman Tripp in 2013 from Allen & Overy LLP, London.
Chris Gillies, Corporate, Wellington
Chris advises clients in the private and public sectors on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. He specialises in business acquisitions and reorganisations, capital raisings, regulatory matters, corporate governance and negotiating commercial agreements across a variety of sectors, including agriculture, energy and utilities, mining, insurance, banking and financial services.
Natan Karan, Corporate, Wellington
Natan is a corporate lawyer specialising in financial services compliance and regulatory issues. He regularly advises clients including, banks, fund managers and the trustees of superannuation and KiwiSaver schemes on the Financial Markets Conduct Act (FMCA) and its implications for their businesses. Natan also has experience advising on the full range of legislation affecting financial service providers.
Sarah Quilliam-Mayne, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Wellington
Sarah advises clients on a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution matters. Her experience includes commercial disputes, regulatory issues, and public law. Sarah studied at Cambridge University and joined Chapman Tripp in 2015 after five years as a commercial litigator at an international law firm in London.
Andrea Watson, Corporate, Christchurch
Andrea advises on a broad range of property matters including acquisition and disposal of real estate, due diligence investigations, leasing, licensing and related property rights. She advises clients from a variety of sectors including agriculture, energy, and property development. Andrea has a particular interest in infrastructure and development, including complex subdivisions and unit titles.
