An aspiring outcome at business awards celebration
Aspiring Health were crowned the Enterprise Great Lake Taupō Business of the Year at the BNZ Great Lake Taupō Business Awards 2015 held on Friday night.
After earlier winning the Strettons Best Professional Business Award, Catie Noble of Aspiring Health was jubilant when presented with a major award.
“I’ve worked so hard on this,” she said. “I’ve entered the Awards for many years as I truly believe it is such a good thing to do for my business. We’ve never won before, and to get recognised in this way is just fantastic.”
Ms Noble was quick to praise her staff for their dedication and incredible work ethic, and her husband for his support.
Other big award winners included Unichem Mainstreet Pharmacy who scooped the Mediaworks Best Retail Business category, GB Glass & Aluminium who won the Terrain Best Industrial/Trade award, and Lava Glass who took away the Destination Great Lake Taupō Best Tourism/Hospitality Business award.
Proving that the awards programme recognises businesses from around the entire district, Turangi Marine was recognised as the ninetyblack Best Services Business Award.
More than 320 business owners, managers, staff and dignitaries packed the Great Lake Centre on Friday evening for the biennial celebration, hosted by celebrity MC Ali Mau (of Radiolive).
Presented jointly by the Taupō Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Towncentre Taupō, the Business Awards programme saw entrants attend a series of workshops before submitting a written application that was then judged by Dr Leith Oliver of Auckland University. Once Dr Oliver had selected the top businesses for each category, these finalists were then mystery shopped and also had their financial records scrutinised by Dr Oliver who then made the final award decisions.
