Student Flights Dunedin Takes Home Top Honours at Retail Awards
Student Flights NZ is buzzing after Student Flights Dunedin took out top honours at the esteemed Retail NZ Top Shop (Lower South Island) Awards.
The best shops from Otago and Southland were named at the Retail NZ Top Shop Awards ceremony in Dunedin, with Student Flights Dunedin taking out the National/Multi-Store Top Shop award.
“To win this award is just surreal, it’s an amazing feeling and there’s a real buzz in the office,” says Student Flights Dunedin team leader Rangi Uriaro.
Up against top retailers such as Barkers Dunedin, Mitre 10 Dunedin, Flight Centre Mosgiel and Flight Centre Remarkables Park, Student Flights are thrilled to have taken out the top award.
Student Flights NZ brand leader, Danny Bodger, said it was a fantastic achievement for the store and a real credit to the team.
“We are really proud of our team at Student Flights Dunedin, Rangi Uriaro, Sam Veale and Hannah Stephenson (pictured), winning this award is a real testament to their hard work and recognises the teams outstanding dedication to their customers.”
Mr Uriaro, says “we’re absolutely stoked, it’s just made us that much more hungry to exceed the service that we provide, it’s really raised the bar for us.”
Mr Uriaro says that travel is really booming at the moment, particularly with young travellers in Dunedin.
“Travelling is such a big part of being a Kiwi and we’ve been finding that this year in particular young New Zealanders are really taking advantage of the competitive pricing in the market. They’re also really pushing the boundaries of the destinations they visit with some really off the beaten path destinations proving popular.”
Mr Uriaro goes on to say that adventure travel in South America and Vietnam is also popular this year, as is touring, particularly around Europe.
