Kerre McIvor’s New Newstalk ZB Co-Host Announced for 2016

19 August 2015 – New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) Radio is delighted to have signed broadcaster Mark Dye to co-host Newstalk ZB’s new afternoon show with Kerre McIvor from Monday, 11th January 2016.

Dye is thrilled he will be back on New Zealand airwaves after recently arriving home from travelling the world. Dye has previously hosted ZM’s Night show, Drive show and Day show. He also worked in radio programming.

Since leaving New Zealand in 2012, aside from brief stints back in New Zealand working on various NZME Radio brands, Dye has travelled through Asia, South and North America, Europe and Africa - it's only Antarctica he is yet to visit.

“There has been a lot of travel, it has been beyond amazing and I've had the time of my life,” Dye says. “But I couldn't be happier about returning to New Zealand to work alongside Kerre on Newstalk ZB. As cliché as it sounds, it is a dream come true!”

Broadcasting veteran Kerre McIvor believes Dye and herself will make a dynamic on-air team.

“I’m looking forward to having a co-host because Mark will add another voice, opinion and dimension to the new show. The show will be accessible to listeners from all age groups and I’m sure Mark and I will have different perspectives on breaking news stories and current affairs debates – and that will be a great catalyst for generating robust conversations.”

Steve Kyte, General Manager Talk says, “Kerre is a magnificent talent and had highlighted she was ready for a new challenge. We believe partnering Mark and Kerre will make for a world class show. We are making changes to the show and listeners can expect refreshed content but we are keeping plans under wraps for now.”
