Letitia O’Dwyer appointed as Chief Executive for New Zealand Organisation for Rare Disorders
NZORD is thrilled to announce the appointment of Letitia O’Dwyer as its new Chief Executive.
Letitia has been involved in the health sector for over 20 years and has extensive experience in the introduction of new health technologies, improving access to pharmaceuticals, initiating imaging and diagnostic trials and establishing international healthcare networks. She holds a Bachelor of Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business and a Masters in Health Management from the University of Auckland, School of Population Health. She has sat on a number of international and national advisory boards including women's health and cardiology. She has held management positions in both the diagnostics industry and pharmaceutical industry, and collaborated with a number of NGOs over the years.
On announcing the appointment Lucy Elwood, Chair of the NZORD Trust Board said “This is a very exciting appointment for NZORD. Letitia will bring her depth of health sector knowledge and experience to this role for the benefit of rare disease patients and their families. She is a dynamic and energetic person, and is passionate about ensuring the very best health outcomes in New Zealand for the people we represent. I know that she is looking forward to working with all of our stakeholders. I would also like to acknowledge Olivia Baddeley, the interim Acting Chief Executive, and all of the team at NZORD for the extra load they have carried while we have been recruiting for this role.”
Letitia will commence at NZORD on 17 August 2015.
