Kiwi Regional Airlines opens bookings, confirms flight dates
Kiwi Regional Airlines has announced the opening of its online and telephone reservations system today.
The airline will start scheduled flights on 27th October 2015, subject to regulatory approval, servicing Dunedin, Queenstown, Nelson and Hamilton with its 34-seat SAAB 340A aircraft, due to arrive in New Zealand from Europe in early September 2015.
"Fares on Kiwi flights will be completely transparent, with no unexpected add-ons," said Chief Executive Ewan Wilson.
"What you see on your computer or phone screen will be what you are charged."
"There will be no taxes, credit card charges or other unwanted fees added automatically as you move through the online booking system, unless you choose to add extra items."
"Kiwi will also keep its available fares at the advertised price, and will not be increasing them as you get closer to flight dates, " said Mr Wilson.
"The $134 economy fare from Dunedin to Queenstown you see two months out from your flight date will still be $134 the day before, unless available seats in that fare category, on the flight are sold out."
Mr Wilson also outlined Kiwi's child fare policy, where all children from the ages of 2-15 (inclusive) will have seats booked at 75% of the applicable fare as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.
"This is a much more family-friendly policy than travelers will have seen recently," he said.
"We are the only ones offering a child discount, and the only ones extending the child age until they turn 16."
The online reservations system will in operation 24-hour, 7 days a week, and will be backed up by a telephone reservations crew based in Kiwi's Hamilton headquarters, with toll-free calling for enquiries and bookings in the Dunedin, Queenstown and Nelson free-calling areas.
