Free financial planning for ANZ KiwiSaver members
ANZ, New Zealand’s largest KiwiSaver provider, today encouraged more of its members to take advantage of its free financial planning services, following the release of a Government report showing almost half of people over 50 don’t know how they will reach their retirement goals.
A joint survey by the Commission for Financial Capability (CFFC) and the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) into how New Zealanders are planning for their retirements found that almost half of people aged over 50 had not yet figured out how they would reach their retirement goals, while four in 10 retirees had retired without a financial plan.
ANZ Wealth General Manager Products and Marketing Ana-Marie Lockyer said ANZ recognised the importance of good financial planning and offered free financial planning services to all members of its ANZ’s KiwiSaver schemes through ANZ Wealth Direct.
“This is a great service but, surprisingly, very few of our members take advantage of it,” Mrs Lockyer said.
“As a guide, we recommend that our members talk to a financial planner at age 40, 55 and when they retire but our members can consult a financial planner at any time.
“As the CFFC notes, people who have a financial plan tend to have a more comfortable retirement so it makes sense to get this advice.”
Mrs Lockyer said ANZ also offered some good online tools, including a risk profile questionnaire to help people work out their tolerance for investment risk. ANZ’s online KiwiSaver calculator also helped people to work out if they are saving enough to reach their retirement goals.
