Qantas announce new, seasonal service from Wellington to Brisbane
Qantas has today announced a seasonal Wellington - Brisbane service commencing in December.
The much anticipated service will add 72 flights to the Brisbane network over the busy summer holiday season, providing
new flight options and competitive fares.
“Competition is exciting for travellers and we expect huge demand for the new Qantas service to Brisbane. It will be the
only full service airline on one of our most popular holiday destinations at its busiest time of year,” said Steve
Sanderson, Wellington Airport Chief Executive.
The service will also benefit those travelling further than the Tasman, with onwards connections to Hong Kong, Japan,
Singapore and Los Angeles.
“We have seen over 15% growth in international traffic this year which is exceptional and the Qantas route to Brisbane
will be our fourth new international service. It is pleasing to see airlines recognising the strong market Wellington
has to offer,” said Mr Sanderson.
Qantas has also announced supplementary services to cater for strong demand over the Christmas period out of Wellington
to Sydney and Melbourne.
The new service will operate from 3 December 2015 to 22 February 2016. Fares for the services are available via qantas.com.
