MYOB showcases add-on solutions at annual conference

MYOB showcases breadth of add-on solutions at annual conference

From financial modelling through to time-based project management, MYOB’s API platform developer program is dedicated to finding new ways to make business life easier for SMEs.

MYOB’s API developer program was set up in 2013 and has grown to nearly 3000 partners in just two years. As the program continues with its strong growth curve, New Zealand’s leading accounting software provider adds further support for the program through a tradeshow at its annual conference.

MYOB’s Partner Connect conference will be held at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland on August 14 and 15. The conference, traditionally held for MYOB approved partners only, now includes an extra day that is open and free to anyone wanting to learn more about MYOB’s extensive suite of online accounting products. A selection of add-on applications designed to complement the MYOB product offering will be exhibited to conference participants at tradeshow stands.

MYOB General Manager for SME Solutions James Scollay says, “Our add-on community enables business owners to create an end to end solution that fully automates their business, something which previously only large enterprises could afford.”

“The API developer program also ensures that MYOB is helping to foster technology innovation for the SME sector. It’s vital that small business get access to the latest advances in technology, in key areas like mobile and automated business intelligence. We are always on the look-out for add-ons that, through clever use of data and technology, focus on the evolving needs of small business.”

“We see the future for accountants as being the trusted business advisor to their small business clients. Apps from our developer programme, integrated with MYOB AccountRight or MYOB Essentials, help them on that professional journey.”

Mr Scollay says the API developer program is also another way for MYOB to help support local technology entrepreneurs.

“For our almost 3000-strong partner community, we are creating the opportunity for dynamic technology businesses to reach a wide audience, work closely with other like-minded developers, and identify exciting opportunities in our base of 1.2million SME customers” he says.

Edward O’Leary, CEO of Auckland-based time management and invoicing software company Abtrac, says being part of the MYOB developer program has significantly boosted his client base. The company receives three to five customer referrals through the MYOB add-ons site every day.

“MYOB customers in the professional services space are contacting us all the time for tools to manage their projects. By integrating with a wide range of MYOB products we are able to offer professional services businesses even more flexibility with tracking time and costs against a project and invoice appropriately,” says Mr O’Leary.

The API is available for use with any programming language and any platform, such as Mac and Windows, including devices running iOS, Android and Windows Mobile operating systems. The developer program offers three levels of membership to suit different needs and is open and free to anyone wanting to create and integrate solutions that make business life easier for MYOB clients. Developers interested in joining the API program can visit MYOB’s Developer Centre.
