NZ Captain joins Colliers’ team

NZ Captain joins Colliers’ team

New Zealand Black Sticks’ captain, Simon Child, is hoping to combine his hot property status on the hockey field with the sale of a few of them off it.

The two-time Olympian has joined Colliers International’s award winning Investment Sales team.
Child has always had an interest in commercial real estate and says the timing for this move was ideal.

“With current conditions the way they are, there’s no better time to be in the market. I’m 27 years old now and nearing the end of my international hockey career, so the opportunity to be part of the investment sales and wider commercial team at Colliers was too good to refuse.”

Gareth Fraser, director of Investment Sales, says Child has been performing at an elite level since being picked for New Zealand at 16 years of age.

“That same level of personal discipline and work ethic will set Simon up very well in his new career with Colliers International. He will join Charlie Oscroft – a former New Zealand Hockey coach – focussing on Auckland’s eastern suburbs commercial property market.”

Child says Colliers has an outstanding reputation and is grateful for this opportunity.

“I am determined to achieve the same level of success off the pitch as I have done in my sporting career.”

Child – who has represented the country a record 244 times – had most recently played professional hockey in Holland and India.
