Spark Home, Mobile and Business announces new GM Marketing

Spark Home, Mobile and Business announced today it has appointed Clive Ormerod as its new General Manager Marketing.

Clive joins Spark after a seven-year career at Nike, where he held a number of key senior commercial and marketing roles. Most recently Clive was on the Nike executive team for UK and Ireland as Senior Marketing Director, responsible for all retail, brand communications, digital marketing, and consumer experiences, across one of Nike’s most critical markets globally.

CEO Home, Mobile and Business Jason Paris said “We are seriously excited to have someone of Clive’s calibre moving into this crucial role for our business.

“As we approach our first anniversary as Spark we are looking to take our customers’ experiences, our commercial results and our brand to the next level - and Clive is just the man for the job.

“He has shown at Nike that he can lead teams to success in fast, complex and competitive markets, with a relentless focus on the end consumer. We’re looking forward to welcoming him back to New Zealand – and welcoming him to Spark – later this year,” said Paris.

Clive Ormerod said: “Spark has an inspiring vision. I am excited by the opportunity and potential of the brand and business, and I can’t wait to join the team and get started.

“The company is on a journey of change, where our future success will come by always starting with the consumer, and through continuous innovation in technology and digital services. I really look forward to the role that I can play in that.”

Clive was born in Africa. He moved to New Zealand for university, and graduated from the University of Auckland with a BCom, majoring in Marketing and International Business.

He will start the new role at Spark on 2 November 2015.
