New homes and yoga centre coming to award-winning Millbrook Resort
Luxury home and land packages on offer at Queenstown’s Millbrook Resort tell the continuing success story of a development boom driven by increased business confidence.
The Pioneers is an exciting new eight-home hamlet to be positioned on four elevated north-facing terraces overlooking the resort’s Coronet Nine golf course.
Designed by architects Mason and Wales and complemented by award-winning landscape design from Baxter Design Group, the eight two plus media room or three bedroom single level homes are priced from $1.5m.
This latest release was offered to the public this week and Property and Development Manager Ben O’Malley said one of the homes had already been snapped up by one Millbrook Country Club member. Members are typically offered a ‘’first opportunity to purchase’’ for each new release.
“As with all our development releases over the past five years, the level of interest in The Pioneers has been very pleasing , thanks to Millbrook’s proven track record as a visionary and quality developer,” he said.
“In the past three years Millbrook itself has constructed 18 home and land packages and developed 42 new lots over two subdivisions at a total construction cost of approximately $31m and we continue to expand with the purchase of former farm land on our western boundary. In addition to that there have been around another 14 private homes built at an approximate cost of $24m.”
“The market is showing no signs of letting up with regards to families, holiday home owners or lifestyle investors, all of whom recognise and appreciate Millbrook’s very unique qualities.”
“Ever-increasing numbers are choosing to make Millbrook their permanent home, which means that community spirit combined with our reputation for quality and ultimate lifestyle living is making the resort THE place to live in the Southern Lakes district.”
The latest homes are designed to maximise plentiful year-round sun, stunning panoramic views and privacy, nestling easily into the surrounding landscape.
Each of these desirable single level homes, designed by respected architects Mason and Wales along with kitchen and bathroom specialist Ingrid Geldof Design, has a delightful combination of superbly proportioned living spaces, verandas, outside terraces and secure garaging.
Two floor plan options are available for seven of the homes within the same footprint with flexibility around making the third bedroom into a media room or office, while one has a site-specific floorplan to take advantage of expansive views to the west.
Talented interior designer Sue Nauman has created two design options for the homes so they can be bought as a complete turnkey package.
“They’re in a magnificent location where we’ve always had plans to offer some single level homes at a different price point to others we’ve released recently,” said Mr O’Malley.
“Our long-term strategy is to continue to offer small releases of a wide range of home and land packages plus land-only sites to build the Millbrook community while maintaining our wide open ‘green’ spaces and upgraded golf course facilities.”
Meanwhile work has already started on an 82m2 extension to the ground floor of the existing Health and Fitness centre to cater for increased class numbers.
The new space has been designed as a dedicated yoga and pilates room but can also be used for other classes and personal training sessions.
Mr O’Malley said currently classes were held in the gym but were not compatible with general gym use.
“Gym users want the place cooler than the yoga users do, and yoga by nature is a quiet and contemplative activity and so someone pounding along on a treadmill or bench pressing weights in the same room is not a great mix. Class numbers have been steadily growing so we’re catering for that demand.”
The project is expected to be completed in early September.
Boasting many awards and accolades, Millbrook Resort is renowned the world over for its exceptional accommodation, spa, restaurants, golf course and property, facilities which are open to Millbrook members, hotel guests and to the public as day visitors.
Millbrook currently comprises 27 golf holes with one full 18-hole course available at any time using a mixture of the three nines – the Arrow Nine, Remarkables Nine and newer Coronet Nine.
The resort is owned by the Japan-based Ishii family which bought the original Millbrook land in 1988, and it has been under development since then. Opened to the public in 1993 the Ishii family’s ultimate vision is to develop “the best golf and lifestyle resort in the world”.
