NetHui programme highlights key issues of the Internet
NetHui 2015’s programme - developed with the NZ Internet community - has been finalised with a diverse array of sessions
exploring issues which will affect the future of the Internet.
InternetNZ Chief Executive Jordan Carter says he is thrilled about this year’s programme, and that the New Zealand
Internet community has brought together what promises to be an exciting and thought-provoking event.
“We’ve got Minister Adams opening the event and we’ll have panels featuring MPs, industry specialists and community
leaders from across a range of sectors. It’s wonderful to also be joined by Kathy Brown - CE of the global Internet
Society - as keynote speaker, to bring an international perspective to the event.
“The truly unique part of NetHui is the array of discussion sessions put together by the Internet community. People from
all over the country, with different backgrounds have come together to develop discussions sessions on topics such as
online dispute resolution, cloud computing security, digital literacy and rural connectivity.
“There will be something for everyone at this year’s event,” says Mr Carter.
For the first time this year InternetNZ, with sponsoring support from APNIC and ICANN, introduced Pacific Island
fellowships, as well as offering fellowships for people in New Zealand for the second year. The fellowships help people
to get to the event who may have otherwise missed out, and demand has been high.
“NetHui is New Zealand’s most diverse and interactive Internet community event, and this year’s event promises to be as
engaging as ever.There are still a small number of registrations available, so we’d advise anyone considering going to
get online and register.”
