Multiple Construkt projects feature in Property Council Awards
Architecture and masterplanning practice Construkt was on the design team for three projects that featured in this year’s Property Council Awards. The annual awards are a celebration of excellence in property development.
The highlight was Takanini Village – Stage 1, which took out the Best of Category Retail Property Award. Owner and developer Tonea Investments collected the Award at a black-tie gala event held at Vector Arena on 12 June.
Auckland-based Construkt played a pivotal role in the development. Beginning in 2011, the practice provided a comprehensive design service from masterplanning and concept design to construction documentation and on-site observation.
In the Retail Property category Takanini Village was pitted against 10 other nominees from around New Zealand, including Tauranga, Hamilton, Nelson, Dunedin, Christchurch and Auckland.
The winners were judged on a wide range of criteria, from economic and financial factors, project vision and innovation, to design and construction, owner and user satisfaction, sustainability and operating efficiency.
The Judges felt the Takanini Village development was “well conceived and will be of significant benefit to the local and wider community”.
Stage 1 of Takanini Village was completed in 2014. The high-quality 12,800sqm retail and commercial space has attracted high-profile tenants and become a much-celebrated hub for the district and beyond.
Other Construkt projects that featured at the Awards include Auckland International Airport’s The Landings project and Todd Property’s Long Bay – Stage 1, which each received a Merit Award.
Construkt Director, David Gibbs, says: “We’re delighted that projects that we have been involved with have received this distinguished recognition from the prestigious Property Council Awards. It’s a testament to our team’s expertise and our commitment to providing exceptional outcomes to support our clients’ goals and vision.”
