Regional Summits opportunity for tourism operators
Regional Summits opportunity for tourism operators
Tourism operators around New
Zealand are being offered the opportunity to get
face-to-face with industry leaders at a series of Regional
Tourism Summits organised by the Tourism Industry
Association New Zealand.
Starting in Paihia on 29 June, TIA will take the one-day events to 13 locations around the country during July and early August.
“Following our National Tourism Summit in Wellington last November, we received a lot of feedback that operators wanted more opportunities to meet and network in their regions. Members asked, we listened and so we are hitting the road for the next six weeks,” TIA Chief Executive Chris Roberts says.
Tourism operators attending each roadshow will have the opportunity to find out how the industry is tracking against the Tourism 2025 $41 billion aspirational goal. They will also have a chance to tell TIA directly about the issues, challenges and opportunities facing their businesses and regions.
Key industry stakeholders including the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and Qualmark will provide industry updates.
There will also be practical presentations from Westpac, Lane Neave Lawyers and ServiceIQ to help operators consistently deliver an outstanding visitor experience, run an efficient business and comply with new health and safety legislation.
“We’ve had great support from the host regional tourism organisations,” Mr Roberts says.
“The TIA Regional Tourism Summits are going to be a really interesting sessions. I’m looking forward to hearing what the operators in each region have to tell us. We’ll be taking the information we gather in each region and using it to develop the agenda for the TIA National Tourism Summit taking place in Wellington on 19 November.”
The TIA Regional Tourism Summits are supported by Westpac. For more details visit www.regionaltourismsummits.co.nz
