Kiwi Tech Startup Takes on the World in Silicon Valley
25 startups from 18 countries will be competing 4 June for bragging rights as the winner of the World Cup Tech challenge, run by the not-for-profit Silicion Valley Forum.
World Cup Tech Challenge chooses 25 startups among several hundreds of applicants from fifty-three different countries and New Zealand’s BraveNewCoin has been selected to represent the Kiwis in the FinTech category.
CEO and Founder Fran Strajnar says "This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the depth of tech entreprenurship in NZ and we are honoured to have been selected".
Fran will be in San Francisco this week and has had a wealth of support from Tauranga based Wharf42, who's founder Peter Wren-Hllton was selected to compete previously and was instrumental in bringing influential investors Adiba Barney and Bill Reichart to NZ in May to help NZ startups connect with the US. Adiba is the CEO Of the SV Forum which has a 30 year history of creating successful events that educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs and technologists with funders, influencers and leaders in technology globally. Fintech is a new and exciting category for the World Cup Tech Challenge this year, and one of the hottest industries in Venture Capital right now.
BraveNewCoin is a technology and data company providing insight into the digital currency market (eg Bitcoin and over 350 other coins). Strajnar says "In a rapidly evolving disruptive industry, accurate and high quality data provides intel and competitive advantage to decision makers. We are able to provide this in a frictionless way, and are geared to scale as the adoption rates increase"
They are competing in the FinTech category against the Netherlands, Mexico and USA and need your support. Get online and show your support for the Kiwi crew.
