New Executive Director for SOUNZ
Diana Marsh will be the new Executive Director of SOUNZ Centre for New Zealand Music.
“The SOUNZ Board is delighted to appoint such an experienced and successful arts manager to continue the important work
of the organisation,” said the Chair of SOUNZ, Elizabeth Kerr, in announcing the appointment today. “Diana has shown a
strong commitment to New Zealand composition in her former roles and she is an energetic, capable and respected advocate
for the work of our composers and musicians.”
Ms Marsh is a former Manager of the New Zealand String Quartet and former General Manager of Orchestra Wellington. She
first worked with New Zealand composers as manager of the third Composing Women’s Festival in 1999 and has also worked
for the World of Wearable Arts as Show Producer. Her governance work includes the role of Trustee of the Lilburn
Residence Trust.
SOUNZ Centre for New Zealand music works to champion the music of New Zealand’s composers. SOUNZ is home to a diverse
and vibrant collection of information, scores, recordings and film of New Zealand music and performances. Creative
collaborations with partner organisations such as the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Radio New Zealand Concert, APRA
and NZ On Air highlight the organisation’s ongoing growth and development through events and projects that promote New
Zealand music to national and international audiences.
