Emirates Adds A380 Destination Number 33 – Perth

Emirates has expanded the network of destinations served by its highly-popular A380 aircraft with the launch of the first scheduled A380 service into Perth.

Perth is the fourth Australian city and the 33rd destination globally to welcome a regular Emirates Airbus A380 service. Emirates will operate the advanced double-decker aircraft daily between Dubai and Perth and return.

Emirates has been operating the A380 from New Zealand to Dubai and beyond since 2009.

“Emirates is pleased to introduce the first A380 service into Perth. The A380 is a state-of-the-art aircraft offering our flagship product in all three classes, and we look forward to providing this outstanding experience to our Perth passengers as well as to international visitors flying into this vibrant city,” said Barry Brown, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations East.

“Emirates first commenced services to Perth 13 years ago, in 2002, and Perth Airport is very proud to welcome their first A380 today, connecting more passengers to destinations around the world and offering Western Australians the opportunity to experience an outstanding aircraft,” said Brad Geatches, Chief Executive Officer, Perth Airport.

In line with the arrival of the A380, Emirates is also further investing into the West Australian market with an expanded lounge at Perth Airport. Set to open later this year, the lounge will offer increased capacity in order to cater for the passenger numbers that will be travelling on the A380.

Passengers are also entertained with over 2,000 channels to choose from on Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice.

Emirates’ Perth A380 service operates daily as EK420 departing Dubai at 0255hrs and arriving at Perth International Airport at 1735hrs the same day. The return flight, EK421, departs Perth at 2210hrs and arrives in Dubai the following day at 0525hrs, a flying time of 11 hours 15 minutes.
