Sounds Air expands to 100,000 regional seats over the next year
Sounds Air announced today that they will be introducing daily flights between Wellington to Taupo in the next few
months. With existing routes to Wanganui, Blenheim, Nelson, Picton and Paraparaumu , Sounds Air will deliver 100,000
seats a year of regional air capacity.
Chief Commercial Officer for Wellington Airport, Matt Clarke, said “Sounds Air has grown into a strong regional airline
and the three daily return flights between Wellington and Taupo will take their Wellington operation to 100,000 seats
per annum.
“The fixed price fare of $219 per person each way, along with a 10 flight concession and triple daily frequency will
provide a great deal of flexibility, especially for regular business commuters.”
Sounds Air have been operating for 25 years and their new 9 seat Pilatus aircraft, manufactured in Switzerland, are
faster, quieter and fly higher than the Beech 1900D. On Sounds Air it will soon only take 45 minutes to reach Taupo.
