Sauvignon Blanc continues to provide new opportunities
Giesen Wines is celebrating International Sauvignon Blanc day on Friday, April 24, with its Marlborough growers.
It is the sixth annual International
Sauvignon Blanc Day – an online initiative that started in
California with St Supery Winery as a global social media
wine tasting.
Giesen has one of the most diverse
Sauvignon Blanc portfolios in New Zealand, producing eight
main styles ranging from its ever popular Giesen Estate,
which is exported to 30 countries, through to the super
premium Fuder range.
“It’s no secret that the mainstay of our portfolio is the Sauvignon Blanc grape and we take great pride in celebrating its diversity,” says Alex Giesen.
“It’s so exciting that we can produce such a wide range of Sauvignon Blanc styles, highlighting the varietal and regional versatility. We have always had boundless enthusiasm for Sauvignon Blanc and continually exploring the myriad of possibilities it offers.”
Giesen is celebrating International Sauvignon Blanc Day
across the globe, with on and off licence tastings in New
Zealand, together with its main markets of Australia, the UK
and US, and as far away as Bulgaria. The campaign has been
entirely promoted by social media.
Sauvignon Blanc
accounts for 86% of wine exported from New Zealand. New
Zealand Sauvignon Blanc exports are worth over $1 billion
annually.
