Skinny Mobile earns five stars in the Canstar Blue Awards
Skinny wins 2015 Canstar Blue Award for Most Satisfied Customers, Mobile Phone, Prepaid; awarded five stars across all
categories
AUCKLAND, NZ – Skinny Mobile, has come out on top in the 2015 Canstar Blue Awards taking out the Most Satisfied
Customers, Mobile Phone, Prepaid category.
The award, which has been won by 2degrees for the last two years, recognises excellence in customer satisfaction in the
prepaid mobile phone category and is judged by everyday customers who rate their real-life experiences.
Beating all the larger corporate companies, Skinny achieved five star rankings for all sub-categories – value for money, customer service, accessibility, billing and network coverage.
“New Zealanders are well catered for in the mobile space and more than two thirds of the country are on prepay – that’s
a pretty big chunk of the market,” said Ross Parker, General Manager of Skinny Mobile.
“We’re pretty excited to have received this accolade. It’s a competitive landscape and as our customers aren’t locked in
to any fixed term contracts, we have to keep them happy by keeping our prices down and services top-notch. This award is
proof that what we are doing is what Kiwis actually want.”
Last year, Skinny landed more than 150,000 new customers – something it attributes to its great prices, using a solid
and fast 4G network, its super quick and helpful NZ-based customer care team and the fact it offers a plan for everyone
at all price points.
For example, Skinny’s newest plans include the $9 Starter Combo for those who only use their phone a little bit and the
Ultimate $46 Monthly Prepay Combo for those who are data hungry. Earlier this year, Skinny listened to feedback from
customers and introduced Rollover Data.
“The Canstar Blue Awards are based on consumer feedback. At the end of the day they’re the ones who count, so we’re
pretty proud that we have come out on top, ahead of the bigger companies like Vodafone and 2degrees.”
The Canstar Blue Awards recognise customer satisfaction across a range of categories. The outcomes reported are the
results from customers within a survey group who currently have a mobile phone plan they pay bills for.
