Samsung New Zealand launches music streaming service Milk MusicTM
With a focus on expert curation and local NZ music
Auckland, April 7, 2015 – Samsung Electronics New Zealand today launched Milk MusicTM a new, free digital music streaming service designed to bring Kiwis closer to the music they love.
Available for download to compatible Samsung mobile and tablet devices, Milk MusicTM offers Samsung device holders a new way to discover music. Milk MusicTM features a tactile and intuitive dial which allows customers to select a streaming experience based on genre, artists and music they love. And, with more than 150 genre-based curated stations to choose from, Kiwis will be spoiled for choice.
Samsung New Zealand has developed relationships with talented New Zealand artists such as Broods, Shapeshifter, I am Giant and Ladi6 to create exclusive playlists for the service.
“Music curation and personalisation is a key feature of this service and we really believe in the power of using artists and music experts to help guide our customers to great music,” says Mike Cornwell, Head of Marketing at Samsung New Zealand.
“We are thrilled to also support local Kiwi artists in getting more of their music heard with the launch of Milk MusicTM in New Zealand,” says Mike.
Adam Holt, Chairman of Universal Music Group New Zealand says he’s also excited about the launch of Milk Music TM and recognises Samsung is making a significant investment in the New Zealand music industry. “It’s a great way for Kiwis to discover new artists and new music,” says Adam.
Peter Baker, General Manager of local record label DRMNZ says it’s fantastic that Samsung is launching Milk MusicTM here. “Samsung is passionate about music and will offer truly New Zealand specific content to the end user, including thousands of great NZ tracks, bands and artists available from DRMNZ,” says Peter.
