skies and bumper bookings have made it a summer to remember
for a Lake Tekapo holiday park.
Lake Tekapo Motel and Holiday Park, in the Mackenzie District of Canterbury, has been welcoming guests from across the world after general managers Gavin and Andrea Cox listed the property with the accommodation booking website.
The holiday park, consisting of studios, apartments, bungalows, power sites, camping pitches and a 78 bed backpacker bunk house, had been popular with in-the-know travellers but Andrea was keen to boost business by attracting visitors from overseas so signed-up with Booking.com – the world’s biggest online accommodation site.
“Since taking over the management of the holiday park two years ago things have gone really well but we’ve always had gaps here and there,” said Andrea.
“But since registering with Booking.com it’s really taken off and we’ve just enjoyed our best summer yet. We were fully booked in February and I don’t think that’s happened before.”
Andrea has found that more and more overseas visitors are now staying at the holiday park.
“I’ve noticed a particular increase in visitors from China and South East Asia. They’ve been reading all the reviews on the site and coming for the star gazing. They love how clear the sky is here,” she added.
In just six more than 460 guests have left verified reviews on Booking.com, praising the lake side location, amazing views and cleanliness of Lake Tekapo Motel and Holiday Park.
Booking.com New Zealand Area Manager, Tracey Foxall explains that the reviews offer travellers a range of perspectives and gives them peace of mind that when they put the key in the door, they’ll be greeted on the other side with the room they expected.
“People want to hear what other travellers think of a property and Booking.com reviews are an authentic and trustworthy way of researching top spots to ensure you book the accommodation that’s exactly right for you,” said Tracey.
“It’s great to hear about the success Andrea and Gavin have enjoyed. For accommodation providers like them using Booking.com means that no matter the size of the property or however off the beaten track it is, travellers from all over the world will be able to find it and book their ideal room.
